Job Description:
The Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the compliance program within the healthcare organization to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. This potion will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Responsible:
1. Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations governing healthcare practices in California.
2. Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify areas of potential risk and non-compliance. Develop and implement corrective action plans as needed.
3. Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance-related issues, including HIPPA, billing and coding regulations, fraud and abuse laws, and other relevant healthcare compliance topics.
4. Collaborate with internal departments, including Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and Operations, to address compliance concerns and ensure a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
5. Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulations, auditors, and government agencies during compliance audits and investigations.
6. Investigate compliance violations, incidents, and complaints, and recommend appropriate disciplinary actions or corrective measures.
7. Stay-up to date on changes in healthcare laws, regulations, and industry best practice to ensure the organization’s compliance program remains current and effective.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, law, or a related field. A master’s degree or certification in healthcare compliance is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related field, with a thorough understanding of healthcare laws and regulations in California.
3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to practical situations.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS), or Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) is a plus.

Pay: $43,312.77 - $52,161.62 per year
