Responsibilities (at minimum):
- Assist pharmacists in fast paced environ ment.
- Prepare and infuse medications for patients in nursing homes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication administration.
- Maintain inventory and stock medications in the pharmacy.
- Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare team members and to process prescriptions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred.
- Previous experience in a long term care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration procedures and practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
