Job Overview:

We are seeking a Kitchen Porter/Food Prep Worker to join our team at Michoacana Alhambra. You will play a vital role in washing all dishes in the dish pit, sweeping, mopping, wiping any area that needs cleaning, food handling, restocking, keeping store organized, ensuring food is stored away properly, & a few other tasks as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the culinary arts and enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Duties:

- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping fruits/vegetables, making batters, and assembling ingredients

- Follow recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency in food quality

- Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, mixers, and grills

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas

- Assist with sweeping, mopping & washing dishes at the end of the night

- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations

- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Assist with catering events as needed

Skills:

- Previous experience in a similar role, such as a dishwasher/food preparer, is preferred but not required

- Strong knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using kitchen equipment

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
