Description

YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School is a tuition-free, public charter high school with a singular focus on supporting youth aged 17-20 who have been pushed out of traditional schools. During our 1-year alternative program, Youthbuild facilitates a warm, loving culture that uses a variety of structures to build community, such as a restorative-justice approach to discipline, weekly community meetings, and school-wide service projects. Students are empowered to attain their high school diplomas and vocational certifications while receiving unconditional support from the staff around them. At YouthBuild, we work intentionally to disrupt the cycle of poverty and support our students to achieve post-secondary success (4-year college, 2-year college, vocational training program, or liveable wage job). YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School seeks a seasoned development professional to oversee the organization's fundraising efforts. Our annual budget is 8.5 million dollars and comprises a dynamic revenue stream, including governmental grants, individual contributions, and philanthropic dollars. • Oversee the creation, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes measurable goals and objectives to secure annual, major, capital, and endowment support.
  • Increase major gift funding by implementing a comprehensive strategy to identify, qualify, prioritize, and cultivate individual donors who can make gifts of $10K .

  • Overseeing the grant writing function, providing leadership and guidance on diversifying our funding streams, determining the approach and data needed for proposal writing, and constantly evaluating for greater impact and efficiencies.
  • Cultivate enduring relationships with foundations and corporate partners.
  • Lead visioning and overall accountability for all special events, including fundraising events, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, site visits, and media visits.
  • Implement an effective stewardship system to track, analyze, and report on fundraising results to enhance decision-making and strategic planning.

Communications:

  • Oversee all external-facing materials in fundraising and communications and ensure information is accurate, up to date, and clearly articulates the need and impact of YB Philly.
  • Oversee YB Philly’s strategic communication strategy and brand.
  • Interpret multiple forms of data and create honest and compelling stories about the progress and impact of programming.
  • Lead the development of effective department-specific tools and resources (including, but not limited to, presentations, prospectuses, annual reports, and other printed and interactive marketing communications).
  • Leadership, Administration, and Team Management.
  • Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, advising the CEO and Board of Directors on fundraising goals, strategies, and progress.
