Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance our diverse technology infrastructure to include managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting critical systems, including on-premises and cloud-based services.
Responsibilities:
Systems Management & Optimization
- Manage and optimize the performance, availability, and security of our critical systems.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure team to implement system improvements and upgrades.
- Provide tier-3 support and troubleshooting for escalated issues.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams and runbooks.
Expert Support & Mentorship
- Provide expert-level technical support and guidance to users and the leadership team.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and adherence to best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation to ensure timely response to critical system issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with business requirements.
Technical Expertise
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and Windows Autopilot.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, IIS, and Remote Desktop Services.
- Proficiency with Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Proficiency in Asterisk-based PBX administration and optimization.
- Strong Cisco/Cisco Meraki and HP network expertise (firewalls, switches, wireless).
- Extensive experience with VMware ESXi and Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with Apache web servers, Squid web proxy, and LTSP.
- Experience with SQL Server administration and optimization.
- Understanding of on-premises backup solutions and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role.
- Proven experience in managing and optimizing diverse, business-critical systems.
- Microsoft 365 Engineer/Administrator certifications (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentorship abilities
