Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for key aspects of the month end close, including inventory, general accruals, and various other routine accounts. This position will collaborate with various departments, including Supply Chain, to monitor and assess account activity. This position will also maintain internal controls and continuously search for opportunities to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence in month-end close ensuring accurate and timely workpapers
• Perform monthly accounting activities including:
• Preparation of journal entries
• Inventory reconciliations
• Monitor inventory transactions and movements between Xeris’ third-party manufacturing locations
• Analyze inventory for obsolescence
• Prepare monthly/quarterly variance analyses for management
• Work cross-functionally with each department to drive our General Accruals Process
• Monitor, investigate, and resolve reconciling items, transaction errors, and other discrepancies

• Prepare support and documentation for external auditors
• Maintain strong internal controls and recommend improvements to controls as needed
• Partner with Supply Chain Operations to monitor inventory levels held by various suppliers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience preferred
• CPA preferred
• Minimum of three to five years’ experience in accounting or auditing
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Advanced skills in Excel

Working Conditions

Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary, to fulfill obligations.
