TITLE:
IT Manager

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

REPORTS TO: CIO
FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION TYPE: Full-time


Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for managing all WyHy critical systems through vendor management utilization under the supervision of the CIO. Provide ongoing assessment and planning of the credit union’s technology infrastructure to include hardware, software, network administration, systems security, telecommunications, vendor relations, and other Information Systems technologies. Recommend changes or upgrades or new products that meet the dynamic needs of the credit union.


Essential Functions

  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and planning of the credit union’s technology infrastructure to include hardware, software, network administration, systems security, telecommunications, vendor relations, and other Information Systems technologies.
  • Serve as primary liaison between the Credit Union and strategic IT business partners in resolving technical issues.
  • Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services.
  • Responsible for the Symitar core system. Oversees the support of the system, to include maintaining and analyzing applications. Responsible for oversight of the implementation of enhancements/upgrades, diagnosing and resolving issues related to programming and creating reports for leadership.
  • Evaluate business needs, and goals, researching products available and designating procedures and systems to best meet those needs
  • Coach and direct staff in operational activities to ensure compliance with departmental goals, objectives of the credit union, external regulations, and budgetary requirements
  • Continually strives to gain increased knowledge of our products, services, core operating systems, policies, procedures, philosophy, and organizational structure.
  • Maintain levels of performance to meet individual, department, and organizational goals.
  • Oversees the support to WyHy Team members on certain modules obtained from key business partners.
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with members and staff to positively resolve issues and conflicts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience working in IT operations
  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
  • Three to five years of management experience, including supervisory responsibilities required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • At least one year of Symitar Core System experience is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in computer science, MIS or related field of study.
  • Experience working in a financial institution is preferred, preferably at Credit Unions.
  • Experience in computer programming, preferably PowerOn, JavaScript and HTML.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the essential duties of the position, the employee may be required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, talk, see and hear. The nature of this position requires fine motor skills and the ability to work on equipment with hands, physical mobility and the ability to occasionally lift and/or move a maximum of 50 pounds. This position may include prolonged periods of time working on a computer and looking at a monitor screen.

Position Requirements

  • While core operating hours for the Credit Union are 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday; extended and/or weekend hours may be required.
  • Involvement in the community in the form of clubs, organizations, charities, or some other form of community involvement expected.
  • Requirement to be bonded. Successful background check including personal credit report and criminal record.
