TITLE: IT SPECIALIST
REPORTS TO: IT Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
POSITION TYPE: Full-time

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for managing the internal helpdesk ticketing system within the established Service Level Agreements (SLAS). Troubleshoots and helps to resolve system issues and assists with system administration duties while providing great internal customer service.

Essential Functions

  • Effectively manage the internal helpdesk system to ensure requests are resolved and responded to within the WyHy IT SLAs.
  • Follow the IVA-EVA Scan WyHy policy to remediate all reported security risks.
  • Follow the WyHy Patch Management policy to ensure all devices are effectively being patched.
  • Provide exceptional support while demonstrating a sense of priorities as set by the IT Manager.
  • Manage critical phishing alerts submitted by end users.
  • Responsible for the deployment and installation of new hardware and software, including network upgrades.
  • Diagnose and resolve network hardware related equipment problems.
  • Effectively maintain network communication connectivity and network servers.
  • Maintain WyHy-related security systems, such to include cameras, door and key fob access.
  • Assists with various IT projects as needed.
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with members and staff to positively resolve issues and conflicts.
  • Travel and time spent outside office may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in computer science or related field.
  • At least one year of computer operations experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows and Windows Server operating systems.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or related area is preferred.
  • At least one year of Symitar Core System experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems is preferred.
  • Experience working in a financial institution is preferred, and preferably at Credit Unions.
  • Experience in computer programming is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the essential duties of the position, the employee may be required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, talk, see and hear. The nature of this position requires fine motor skills and the ability to work on equipment with hands, physical mobility and the ability to occasionally lift and/or move a maximum of 50 pounds. This position may include prolonged periods of time working on a computer and looking at a monitor screen.
  • This position is on site in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Position Requirements

  • While core operating hours for the Credit Union are 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday; extended hours and/or weekends may be required.
  • Requirement to be bonded. Successful background check including personal credit report, driving and criminal record.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver’s license.
