WSB is seeking Civil Renewable Design Lead to join our renewables team. We are looking for an individual with a passion for renewable energy, and a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. This role will collaborate to support projects that include utility scale wind and solar.

Location: Any of WSB Office Locations

What you will do:  

• Take responsibility of bringing design of civil engineering scope from preliminary stage to Issued for Construction plan sets.
• Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports that are complete, accurate and in accordance with utility-scale renewable engineering practices.
• Coordinate specific design aspects of a project with design team.
• Implement precise quality control processes to ensure high quality design packages are delivered to client every time.
• Review plans and specifications for constructability, quality, and risk management.
• Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments.
• Serve as a liaison between other divisions, management and the design team.
• Assist Project Managers in preparing the conceptual, preliminary, and final design.
• Participate in meetings with clients and team members to assist in the delivery of civil engineering scope of renewable energy projects,
• Assist Project Managers in preparing proposals and estimates for various projects.

What you will bring:  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent required
• EIT or PE in MN, TX or CO.
• Must have 4-5 years of experience in utility scale solar and wind energy industries.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Proficient at utility scale mass grading design, in additions to civil designs, and earthwork calculations proficiency.
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with department personnel, other divisions and office staff; must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in managing design staff.
• Experience in county and state permitting.
• Detail-oriented and efficient in problem-solving.
• Possess an interest in renewable energy development and design.

We would like if a candidate has:

• Proficiency with PVCase software
• Experience in Land Development and municipal design
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and Bluebeam software for design review.
