The Direct Support Professional provides training, coaching, and assistance to people with intellectual developmental disabilities. These supports match customer-stated goals and follow uniquely individualized service plans. Services are delivered in our customers' homes and in their communities. Goals may address things like health care, housekeeping, participating in activities, making friends, and having fun. We use methods that encourage and empower people to build skills while directing their own lives.

REQUIREMENTS
-18 years or older
-Understand requirements of maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding individual information
-Understand written and oral orders
-Communicate with individuals, health care providers, and personal agents
-Be ready to respond to emergency situations at all times services are being delivered

PREFERENCES
-Prior lived, educational, or work experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities

JOB DUTIES
-Providing support to customers to facilitate their independent living and community inclusion goals
-Alerting customers' support teams of any day-to-day feedback
-Planning activities with customers
-Maintaining the health and safety of each customer, and keeping a record of appointments, medications, and health changes
-Maintaining documentation of attendance and services, (electronic visit verification, shift recording, service logs, and progress notes), updating these records, acquiring signatures, and submitting documents on time
-Following written behavior support strategies and risk management protocols
-Completing at least 18 hours of ongoing training annually
-Maintaining OIS and First Aid/CPR certifications every two years
-Reporting any serious incident or incident of abuse or suspected abuse right away, and on the same day it occurred
-Responding to communication from the agency, brokerage, customer, and others within 24 hours

PAY AND HOURS:
-This position is $21/hour
-Hours are part-time - they are based on client's need and candidate's availability

EMPLOYER COMMENTS:
-Be at least 18 years of age
-Maintain a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and vehicle insurance as needed to provide safe and reliable door to door transportation for clients
-Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check conducted through the State of Oregon
