Job Summary: The Facility Maintenance Technician will perform overall maintenance and mechanical tasks for the commercial properties of River City Produce and Chicho Boy's Fruit Market. The required duties may include, but are not limited to, electrical and plumbing troubleshooting and repairs, painting, carpentry, masonary, heating and related building maintenance work. The technician will report to the facility and fleet manager but must be able to work independently on projects of importance. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
•Ensure that all preventative maintenance is routinely performed on all plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems within the warehouse, annex, administrative offices and Chicho Boy's Fruit Market.
•Ensure maintenance and repairs are conducted, as needed, on food processing dept. equipment and machinery
•Ensure routine, preventative maintenance is performed on all distribution center and warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, refrigerant blowers, RCP "reader board" sign, etc.)
•Ensure the RCP warehouse and annex, administrative offices and Chicho Boy's Fruit Market are in compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
•Troubleshoot maintenance problems as they arise.
•Perform general plumbing, electrical and HVAC repairs as needed.
•Perform general carpentry repairs as needed.
•Act as emergency backup for the transportation dept. as a delivery driver.
•Coordinate outsourced maintenance repairs under the supervision and direction of the facility and fleet manager
•Act as point of contact for all maintenance work orders and ensure that all work orders are performed within the required time.
•Be available evenings and weekends to handle "on-call" maintenance emergencies as needed.
•Perform other related tasks, as requested by the facility and fleet manager and/or the business owners
Physical Requirements:
•May sit from 1-3 hours daily in order to perform job duties.
•May stand from 5-8 hours daily in order to perform job duties.
•Must be able to lift/carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
•Must be able to stoop, squat, bend and/or twist to perform various job functions.
•Must be able to reach overhead, forward, back and down to perform various job functions.
•Must be able to have corrected vision to
1. Be aware of surroundings and location of resources and tools needed;
2. Read job related documents and perform various job duties.
•Must be able to read and write English in order to audit driver records and other company related documents.
•Environmental conditions:
1. Must be able to work around noise and/or vibration generated by the truck and other equipment
2. Must be able to work around fumes, dust, gases and odors.
3. Must be able to work in cold warehouse environments (33°- 56°F) as required by the job.
4. Must be able to work in warm outdoor environment (up to 100° F) as required by the job.
•Must be alert and able to identify a hazard, should one occur, in order to avoid it, by reporting immediately or, if directed, by taking corrective measures.
Qualifications:
•Must have prior facilities maintenance experience and working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and minor HVAC/heating repairs.
•Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
•Problem solving and troubleshooting
•Ability to accurately and efficiently handle multiple tasks in a busy distribution center environment
•Ability to prioritize work load using the work order system
•Ability to read and write English in order to translate work orders and report back to management as to work progress
Education and Skills Requirements
•High School Diploma and/or GED
•Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
•HVAC certified a plus but not required
•Current driver's license and clear driving record with no moving violations within the past 3 years
