Women Care is Hiring a Billing Specialist Near Jacksonville, FL

The Billing Specialist provides patient account and billing support following established standards and practices.

  • Verifies patient benefits via phone and internet and contacts patient if necessary to confirm.
  • Processes billing for various visit types/procedures using appropriate CPT/ICD coding.
  • Documents and updates information in patient’s electronic medical record.
  • Performs charge entry/posting, as needed.
  • Represents clinic in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
  • Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
  • Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Bachelor degree preferred or a combination of training and experience.
  • Two (2) years of medical insurance/benefits verifications, and experience with requesting Insurance Authorizations. Some experience with Billing functions
  • Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
  • Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
  • Requires flexibility in changing patient census
  • Requires patience, compassion, and the ability to work successfully with a variety of patients, families and employee staff with positive results
  • May require critical thinking skills and the ability to work successfully independently or in a team
