Job brief:

Billing Specialist supports the mental health practice through the necessary skills and tasks listed below. Ultimately, a successful Billing Specialist should ensure the efficient claims billing for primary and secondary payers on a daily basis. You will ensure high-quality customer service for our clients by verifying eligibility on a monthly basis and communicating with clients regarding their coverage. We also expect you to handle all sensitive information confidentially as per HIPAA and PHI (Protected Health Information) guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Use Electronic Health Records software to maintain client billing accurately
• Communicate with payers and clients to resolve billing issues
• Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms as required
• Maintain accurate billing records
• Act as the point of contact for insurance payers
• Ensure accurate billing information for new clients
• Assist clients with billing questions
• Update and maintain client billing records and reconcile payments
• Use payer portals to submit billing (eg, Availity)
• Receive co-pays, payments, and no show fees through either cash or credit card.
• Complete CMS-1500 forms accurately

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
