Wisdom Gaming Inc. is Hiring a Line Cook Near Minneapolis, MN

The High Ground is an events based bar and restaurant, located within Wisdom, on the 4th floor at MOA. The High Ground will host a wide range of events, both within the gaming space, internal brands and third party clients.

JOB SUMMARY

The Line Cook is responsible for putting out all dishes as ordered by guests and assuring the accuracy of said dishes. They play an integral part of the event team in creating the ultimate guest experience. The ideal candidate for this position is driven, hard working, and has a good attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively champions the company’s vision, mission, culture, and overall business objectives.
  • Supports a high-performance team culture that values continuous improvements, learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
  • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces as required.
  • Cooks food items by cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Maintains cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage (follows policies, laws, and regulations at all times). 
  • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces throughout each shift.
  • Scrubs, cleans and maintains kitchen equipment as indicated (proper storage temperatures are met, food rotated in the freezer as indicated, etc.). 
  • Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
  • Washes, cleans, and properly stores kitchen utensils, cookware, tableware, etc. 
  • Works directly with event staff
  • Collaborates with serving staff
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Is high energy and enjoys working in a fast-paced, productive environment.
  • Solid work history, organized and efficient.
  • Flexible schedule, but seeking applicants that can work up to 29 hours/week.
  • Dependability to work independently and have commitment to attendance to daily shifts and arrive on time.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Organizational skills. 
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and speed in executing tasks.
  • Ability to work as a team member. 
  • Follows instructions and directions with a positive attitude. 
  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Toast.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
  • Certificate in Culinary Arts a plus, but not required. 
  • Experience with various cooking methods and procedures.
  • Familiar with industry best practices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Frequent bending or twisting.

SALARY AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Competitive base pay ($17-$20 per hour based on experience)
  • Flexible scheduling/availability

WORKING HOURS

Part time hours based on event schedule, nights and weekend availability a must

WORK LOCATION

Mall of America - Wisdom, located on 4th Floor
