Job Title: Legal Research Assistant

Are you a driven law student looking to gain hands-on experience with a court case?

We have a critical court case coming up in a few months.

This court case is divorce and child support heavy. We are looking for a law student, that can take this on as their project. They are responsible for doing thorough research on this case and on the laws regarding the case and keep their manager fully knowledgeable about all the laws and rules about the case.

This position will focus on providing comprehensive research and analysis support for an upcoming court case involving divorce, child support, and custody matters.

The candidate will be entrusted with thoroughly researching the case details and relevant laws, ensuring that our legal strategy is well-informed and comprehensive.

**Responsibilities:**

• Conduct in-depth legal research on case-specific issues, including divorce proceedings, child support laws, custody arrangements, and related statutes and regulations.
• Analyze and interpret complex legal documents, court rulings, and precedents to provide insights and recommendations to the legal team.
• Keep abreast of any updates or changes in relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the case.
• Assist in drafting legal documents, including briefs, motions, and responses, under the guidance of supervising attorneys.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date case files, including pertinent documents, research findings, and correspondence.
• Communicate regularly with the legal team to provide updates on research progress, findings, and any potential implications for the case strategy.
• Attend meetings, hearings, and other case-related proceedings as necessary to support the legal team.

**Qualifications:**

• Current enrollment in an accredited law school program or a student waiting to pass the bar exam.
• Strong academic background with coursework in family law, civil procedure, and legal research.
• Excellent research skills, including proficiency in utilizing legal databases, libraries, and other resources to gather relevant information.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate research findings and insights clearly.
• Prior experience or familiarity with divorce and family law proceedings is preferred but not required.
