BCL Search is Hiring a Research Assistant/Research Manager at Midtown Hedge Fund Near New York, NY
Our client, a well-known and respected hedge fund, is looking for an Research Assistant/Manager to provide administrative and organizational support for the trading team and oversee 5-6 Research Assistants. This role is not a true admin role, it has the core admin responsibilities such as calendaring, travel arrangements and expenses, but also broker relations and corporate access and working in their CRM system as well as admin oversight and workflow coordination. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of success in a Research Assistant position, preferably at another fund, for 7 years, and 2 years of experience managing direct reports. Additionally, this person will be a self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment. This person will be intellectually curious, intuitive, detail oriented, resourceful, trustworthy and have the highest ethical standards. This person will add value by working on simultaneous projects with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through. This role is 5x days a week in their NY office. The candidate must be fully vaccinated.
RESPONSIBLITIES
Provide administrative and organizational support for teams
Oversee/manage 5-6 Research Coordinators
Manage workflow of said Research Coordinators and partner with team managers to assign work, etc.
Coordinate high volume of internal and external meetings
Develop relationships with broker sales teams and Investor Relations to effectively plan meetings/calls
Calendar planning; screen for conflicts and make sure teams are coordinated for meetings (travel accommodations)
Log corporate access and broker interactions in database
Book travel arrangements including flight, hotel, and ground transportation for team
Process expenses reports for team
Develop basic understanding of covered sector
Participate in weekly team meetings
Provide EA support and assist with occasional personal request from the Portfolio Manager
Ad hoc projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS
Strong track record of success in administrative position
7 years administrative experience
2 year's experience managing direct reports
Experience covering 8 people
Excellent English, grammar, written and oral communication skills
Proven record of successful problem solving
Superior organizational skills and record-keeping, and strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude and high energy level
Adaptable, flexible to changes and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro and related software
Bachelor's degree required with a minimum GPA of 3.0
SALARY $150-200K base (DOE) discretionary bonus paid OT almost fully covered benefits and great perks
