West Side Beer Distributing is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Grand Rapids, MI

West Side Beer Distributing is seeking someone to fill the position of Financial Analyst, who will be based out of our Grand Rapids office.
POSITION SUMMARY
Newly created Financial Analyst position with a premier Beverage Distributor. This new role provides the opportunity to work with Senior leaders to analyze and provide insights, contributing to key decisions. Responsibilities include routine and ad-hoc analysis, benchmarking, risk and opportunity assessments. The Financial Analyst will support forecasting and the budgeting process at a Global level and across functions and locations. This will involve compiling budget reports, financial statements, forecasts and other reporting and supporting documentation. Additional responsibilities include account reconciliations and back-up support to the Accounting function, as needed. Excellent communication, follow-up and attention to detail is necessary to be successful. The creation of this role provides the individual the opportunity to be creative and deliver new insights to the team and broader organization. This position must adhere to all company policies and standard operating procedures.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Utilize Excel in a highly efficient manner for reporting and presentation purposes.
  • Gather, organize and analyze data in various ways including current and historical results, as well as forecast projections.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights, utilizing both written and graphical means.
  • Provide forecasting support utilizing systematic data and trend information.
  • Provide and summarize key metrics.
  • Operate computers programmed with financial accounting and budget software to record, store, and analyze information.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and profits and losses.
  • Code documents according to company procedures.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
  • Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts or time periods.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Four-year college or university)
Experience: Two to Three years related experience – May include internship
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Other Requirements: Must pass physical, drug screen, background check.
