Job Summary:

The Key Account Manager ("KAM") is responsible for alll account and sales management activities involved in managing the relationship with selected customers as well as identifying and cultivating reltaionships for profitable revenue growth. This role is part of Wescon Controls parent company, Suprajit, and is based out of the Novi, MI office.

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Facililtate proactive customer engagement to establish strong working relationships
  • Maintain all account related documentation including, but not limited to, customer portal access, updating and maintaining requisite documentation to meet the TErms and COnditions
  • ENsure all accounts are in good standing andf comply with customer requirements
  • WOrk with customers & the global Suprajit team members in interactive problem solving and selling if existing products as well as finding new opportunities for new products/projects and product development in the assigned markets
  • Quote customers as required onn new products and projects based on costing and application input from internal teams
  • WOrk closely with Engineering, Program Management , Operations, Cusdtomer Service and New PRoduct INtroduction Teams to develop costing and quotes when required. Act as the voice of the customer wwithin the organization for urgent issues to meet customer expectations.
  • ENsure Suprajit's concerns are addressed by customers and closed expeditiously.
  • Support organization goals by managing and executing growth plans and remain accountable for annual sales and profitability forecasts
  • Participate in research and analysis of market trends, pricing models, competitor products and market positions, and other relevant information to support the business goals for the Sales & Business Development Department.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Understanding of Tier-1 seating suppliers
  • History of engagement with Tier-1 seating suppliers and delivering sales wins at the Tier-2 level
  • Demonstrated year-over-year growth in revenues and profitability in current role
  • Experience with quote development process including an understanding of various costs and financial metrics to develop appropriate pricing for various engineering products
  • Experience & aptitude in managing a pricing strategy to achieve gross margin and revenue performace targets
  • Problem solving skills and ability to service customer requirements
  • Ability to resolve any commercial issues promptly
  • Experience working with finance teams and customer service groups to collect AP, ensure timely invoicing and proper management of orders for assigned customers
  • Ability to collabortae with design engineers and product/project managers in an effort to provide technical assistance and support of customers requirements in the sales process
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)l Leadership skills to manage cross functional teams to help quote, win and lead proojects to serial production launch
  • Strong aptitude in Excel, WOrd and PwerPoint. Must ahve the ability to develop written presentations and orally present to various customers in support of initial sales calls, special projects, and product introductions.
  • Proficiency in automated order processing/ ERP systems (i.e, SAP)

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

  • Experience in developing and implementing strong value propositions for current & new markets; Ability to make recommendtions to leadership teams on emerging markets, trends, product gaps and new opportunities
  • Structured automotive program management and launch experience
  • Ability to conduct technical presentations in conjuction with product engineering to large customer groups
  • Ability to develop monthly financial reviews and manage key metrics of the business as defined by leadership

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience selling engineering prodcuts to global automotive seating Tier-1 suppliers
  • Sales and account management experience selling to all or most of the major Automotive Tier 1 seating suppliers
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a customer facing or customer management position with global automotive Tier-2 company supplying components to seat assemblies
  • Experience with Automotive APQP process

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business
  • Minimum of 10 years as an Account Manager or Sales Manager for global automotive Tier-2 company, preferrably selling to seating Tier-1 or other Tier-1 companies
  • Experience with Pricing strategies, sales planning and prospecting for new customers
  • Technical marketing expereince
  • Experience participating and managing trade show booths and managing and presenting at customer supplier tech days

Special Position Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 35% of time
  • Abililty to work reotely in a home office during normal business hours/ days
  • Valid driver's license
  • CUrrently posess, or have the ability to obtain, a US Passport

Physical Demands/ Equipment Used to Perform the job:

  • Ability to walk through manufacturing facilities wirh uneven floors, fluctuating temperatures and lous equipment
  • Ability to climb stairs in customer facilites that do not have elevators
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and read a computer monitor
  • Ability to drive to customer locations
