The Welvista Medication Assistance Program is a nonprofit, mail-order pharmacy, located in Columbia, SC. We provide FREE prescription medications to eligible, uninsured South Carolinians. We are dedicated to ensuring that no South Carolinian forgo lifesaving medications due to an inability to pay for their prescriptions. Our staff works diligently to improve the health and well-being of our patients.
We are seeking a Patient Services Specialist to assist patients, clinics, and providers regarding Welvista eligibility requirements and application process.
The ideal candidate will:
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, clinics, and providers with timely responses to telephone and email inquiries regarding eligibility questions, application status, and other application inquiries. Facilitate the resolution of patient complaints and concerns.
- Be detail oriented and self-motivated, have exceptional phone and communication skills, accurate data entry/keying, and be a strong team player
- Organize daily application batches followed by Medicaid check, eligibility of application and required documents, data entry into the pharmacy software program, and preparation and checking of daily edit reports to ensure data accuracy.
- Prepare reports required to process patient approval and renewal letters.
- Fill in, as needed, for any position in the department: eligibility, hospital advocate application processing, data entry, reporting, receptionist, etc.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma required.
- 3-5 years job experience in customer service and database maintenance.
- Experience in pharmacy/medical field highly preferred.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related office software (Word, Excel, etc) to produce required correspondence and reports.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is a highly preferred skill for this position
- Work will be performed in an office environment in Columbia, SC. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Welvista offers a competitive benefit package to include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, cancer, and 401K. We offer 10 holidays a year and generous PTO.
