**Patient Service Representative (Front Desk) - Dunwoody**
**Dunwoody, GA - Full Time**
**This posting is for a Patient Service Representative position at our Dunwoody Piedmont Urgent Care center located at 1575 Mount Vernon Road.**
**$800 sign on bonus eligible for this position if starting before 12/31/21.**
* This is a full time position consisting of 3/12 hour shifts weekly, must be available to work half the weekends in a month and half the major holidays in a year.
**Patient Service Representative Job Description**
The Patient Service Representative is the first point of contact between the patient and clinical staff. The front office position plays a vital role of ensuring & exceeding the expectations of the patient with the Piedmont Urgent Care experience.
**Minimum Qualifications**
High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year experience in a medical office or emergency room setting preferred. Urgent care experience a plus. Ability to work 12 hours shifts, weekends and holidays. Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination. Certification & experience as a medical assistant a plus, but not required.
**Responsibilities**
Greet patients and provide instructions to all visitors in a polite and professional manner
Analyze health insurance benefits, verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information regarding payment policies and billing/collection processes
Determine and collect each patients financial responsibility
Document Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions
Perform clerical tasks and adhere to established policies and procedures
Assist the practice manager and other staff as required
Provide overall support for office operations
Understand and enforce standard healthcare regulatory requirements
Collect and maintain all patient and business documents while maintaining confidentiality
Perform office procedures including all general administrative duties
Assure HIPAA and OSHA compliance
Maintain the readiness of the reception area
May be asked to travel to other nearby Piedmont Urgent Care locations to support the staff
**Required Skills**
Excellent customer service skills.
Well organized and able to function in a fast paced high volume environment.
Basic knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy, and physiology.
Documentation skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interaction with employers, patients, providers and other colleagues.
Ability to use tack and diplomacy appropriate to situation.
Must have working knowledge of ICD-10 CPT.
Ability to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative, team oriented manner.
Must be able to be mobile and work various positions (standing, sitting, bending, walking) for extended periods of time.
Maintain, safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
Ability to participate in initial and ongoing training as required.
Conduct business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, cooperative, sensitive, respectful, and kind dealing with patients, visitors, the public and all colleagues.
