Wells Fargo is Hiring a Lead Business Accountability Specialist - Issue Management Near CHARLOTTE, NC

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Accountability Specialist to support Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) - Branch Banking, Affluent/Premier, Branch Oversight and Supervision (BOS), and the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) issue management team.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide oversight and support for a portfolio of high visibility complex issues in conjunction with front line issue owners. Provide end-to-end issue management support throughout the entire issue management lifecycle. 
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the corporate Issue Management policy and procedures and associated handbooks and guidelines.
  • Assess, analyze, and design complex and multi-faceted controls, protocols, and approaches with respect to risk mitigation and the control environment, including ensuring effective planning for sustainability, ongoing control adherence, reporting, measurement, technology impacts, and monitoring.
  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business’s functional area or products, operations, and regulatory environment; facilitate decision-making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans; influence and lead key business partners to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid to senior-level managers to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in interpreting, developing, and implementing risk-mitigating strategies.
  • Act as liaison for the business with external parties to support timeliness, appropriate response strategy, and effectiveness of communications and materials.
  • Lead projects and teams in a matrixed environment and serve as a peer mentor.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting/partnering with Branch Banking line of business.
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking: regulations, compliance, policies, process, and procedures (Reg E, UDAAP, Reg B, CIP/CDD, BSA/AML, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of issue management policy
  • Experience partnering with Independent Risk Management and Internal Audit teams.
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels.
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead meetings to reach conclusions, identify tasks, record actions, and achieve results.
  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives.
