Wells Fargo is Hiring a DSRI Lead Business Accountability Specialist - Data Validation Near CHARLOTTE, NC

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Accountability Specialist with our Diverse Segments, Representation and Inclusion Team.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct data validation and quality assurance reviews for information requests fulfilled by the Diverse Segments, Representation and Inclusion (DSRI) Insights, Analytics, and Strategy (IA&S) function which supports both Wells Fargo Employee and Consumer Diverse Segments data requirements across the enterprise.

  • Review front-line information requests and results to assess risk materiality and determine appropriate data validation approach; self-assurance activities include execution of test scripts (manual and automated), as well as additional checks like reconciliation and reperformance to perform secondary reviews through data and control validation activities that ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of information requests.

  • Proactively identify and escalate any potential risks and/or issues discovered during the completion of review activities to business partners and senior management.

  • Execute self-assurance activities in an objective and unbiased manner; Document and maintain detailed reports for data validation activities performed and present findings and/or observations to business partners and senior management.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement, redesign, change management initiatives, and risk control development.

  • Challenge front line decision making, controls, risk assessment, processes, and procedures while monitoring and reporting on key emerging data management risks.

  • Support implementation of applicable components of the Company’s Data Management, Internal Control, and Self-Assurance Activities policies and procedures over data management risks and regulatory reporting and disclosures.

  • Collaborate and consult with Independent Risk Management, Audit, Legal, and Compliance to respond or resolve risk related topics.

  • Prepare additional ad-hoc analyses, business presentations and complete special projects as needed within tight deadlines.

  • Maintain a solid understanding of risk management framework and the risk and control environment that influence and lead data validation and quality assurance testing standards.

  • Support data validation and quality assurance efforts by assisting key stakeholders with information requests and questions or feedback, as needed.

  • Collaborate with managers and peers within the group to maintain procedures and control documentation compliant with the Company’s policies and procedures.

  • Maintain and produce recurring and/or ad hoc reports relative to data validation activities and quality issues.

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5 years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy; critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a record of accomplishment for delivering results.

  • Experience in performing peer SQL code reviews and completing self-assurance activities including development and execution of test scripts (manual and automated), as well as additional checks like reconciliation and reperformance to perform secondary reviews through data and control validation activities that ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of information.

  • Experience in data structures, distributed computing, manipulating, and analyzing complex high-volume data from variety of internal and external sources; SQL scripting including knowledge of relational databases (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and Oracle/SQL databases).

  • Advanced knowledge of Internal Controls, Self-assurance activities practices (Quality Assurance, Quality Control).

  • Ability to understand processes end to end and make value-added recommendations to improve design and control structure through identification of risks factors and ensure enactment of appropriate controls.

  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management, in financial services.

  • A passion for learning and understanding diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and be adaptable to changing work priorities to meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.

  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint Online and Teams) skills.

  • BS/BA degree or higher.

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 5%

  • This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.

  • Position requires onsite presence in one of the posted locations.
