Human Resources & Compliance Coordinator 

Waterfront Petroleum Terminal Company has been serving the commercial marine fleet, industrial, governmental agencies throughout the Midwest for more than 25 years from our two bulk liquid storage terminal locations in Detroit and Wayne County, Michigan.

We are seeking a professional, talented individual to join our team! This position will directly report to our Human Resources/Compliance Manager and Operations Supervisor. 

This position will provide the unique opportunity to immediately gain exposure to, and provide critical

support for, key management players in all aspects of our operations.

  1. Monitor, schedule, and assist with various regulatory compliance efforts and actively participate with inspections on-site.
  2. Maintain physical and electronic records for preventative maintenance efforts and assist with scheduling and evaluation of normal expenses. Track costs, review invoices for payment and approve and process vendor payments.
  3. Assist with the day-to-day operations of Human Resources department including payroll and employee relations matters.
  4. Track and report internal and external operations activity daily, weekly, and monthly basis to appropriate parties with attention to confidentiality and accuracy concerns.
  5. Provide high-level administrative support to senior management team including coordinating meetings, copying, filing, answering and forwarding phones.
  6. Prepare professional business communication documents including memos, letters, and emails.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Significant previous office administrative experience in high-support function
  • Outstanding Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Bachelors Degree in related field preferred
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to pick up new technologies and systems quickly
  • Experience in Human Resources, Labor & Employee Relation matters preferred

Our office is a professional business setting in a fast-paced environment. Being able to work with others on multiple tasks simultaneously is critical to our success.

Required shifts/hours Monday-Friday 9:00AM- 5:00PM.

Waterfront Petroleum is subject to the Port Security regulations set forth by the Transportation Security Administration and United States Coast Guard.
