Waterfront Petroleum Terminal Company & NIMM is Hiring a Terminal Operator Near Detroit, MI

Terminal OperatorLocation: Detroit, MI, 48209
The Terminal Operator role is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the terminal, pipeline, marine and rail assets in addition to the execution of receipt, storage and delivery of petroleum-based products to our valued customers. 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:
  • Facilitating receipt and distribution of product into storage via truck, rail and vessel while following all product movement, and quality control procedures. 
  • Appropriate documentation and basic math calculations will be required. 
  • Interact with contract and customer carriers to coordinate accurate delivery of products via truck, vessel or rail. 
  • Maintenance and repair of terminal equipment and facility grounds to meet or exceed company standards. 
  • Adherence to regulatory measured, safety directives and operating procedures, including Coast Guard, local, state and federal agencies as applicable to terminal operations.
Position Requirements:
  •  High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Related experience in terminal, truck or marine operations preferred
  • Terminal operations require evening and weekend hours on a rotational basis as needed, with the schedule determined by Management.
  • Waterfront Petroleum is subject to the pert security regulations set forth by the Transportation Security Administration and United States Coast Guard. Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a Transportation Worker Identification Credential. More Information on the requirement is available at www.tsa.gov/twic.
Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:
  • General knowledge of equipment and maintenance of pumps, meters, truck loading rack, and dock facility Preferred.
  • General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry is helpful. Inventory control and/or accounting background a plus.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills are also required.
  • This position requires someone who can work well under pressure and has a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
  • Position may require exposure to adverse weather conditions and hazardous environments and require the physical stamina to climb tanks, work long hours in the field, and wear a respirator.
