**Executive Chef**

The ***Executive Chef*** is an exciting leadership opportunity to develop and implement strategic revenue growth strategies in our Leonardos Caf and catering services. Full-time with varied hours (flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays)

***What you will do!***

* Responsible for developing interesting and exciting new menu ideas for daily specials, the lunch menu, and the catering menu that reflect the diversity of our customers.

* Performs duties for action stations at events, as needed.

* Supervises and trains kitchen staff in food production for daily caf operations and events.

* Participates in all aspects of daily business as needed (food preparation, set-up, service, clean-up, and cash management).

* Ensure that equipment is properly maintained including daily cleaning as well as necessary maintenance.

* Responsible for following proper safety and sanitation procedures.

* Sets and enforces use of recipes for menu items to ensure that consistent quality and portion control is maintained.

* Controls inventory to ensure proper dating, labeling, storing, and rotation of products.

* Responsible for maintaining and analyzing set food cost percentage.

* Review invoices to ensure that proper items are being purchased at the agreed upon prices.

* Ensure that all necessary equipment is on hand to prepare and serve menus.

* Ensure that a high level of customer service is provided in all aspects, including internal customers.

* Works closely with the Banquet & Bar Manager and the Events Department in planning menus for special events.

* Meets with clients to discuss their menu expectations, as needed.

* Develops event specific menus to meet clients budgets.

* Assumes supervisor responsibilities of the Banquet & Bar Manager in his/her absence.

* Other duties as assigned

***What you will need (qualifications)!***

* Minimum 2 year degree in Culinary Arts from a certified school or 4 years of related experience preferred.

* Supervisory experience preferred.

* Passion for food and the culinary arts.

* Ability to plan, manage, and coordinate a fast-paced department.

* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage food and labor costs.

* Ability to adapt to the many changes in the industry and work well under pressure.

* Ability to handle and reconcile small sums of money.

* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently.

* Basic computer skills.

* Ability to work irregular hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
