Office secretarial tasks assigned by the principal(s).
Qualifications:
Degree: High School diploma.
Preferred Experience:
Two years related experience preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
Secretarial duties associated with the building principal. Management of office secretarial staff.
Summary: Serves as secretary to the principal and as facilitator for the school/public being served in communicating information, problem solving, material acquisition, cash handling, record keeping, and building permits ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Makes and receives telephone calls, take messages and routes calls.
Registers new students.
Maintains school records and files for building, principal, and related requirements.
Distributes mail.
Greets visitors.
Types, prepares, distributes, and files records / reports, correspondence and mailings that are related to building functions and principal needs.
Coordinate substitutes into classroom and orientates substitute teacher.
Processes attendance/payroll for the building staff.
Attends after hour school functions as requested.
Orders, processes, and maintains office materials and equipment.
Serves as confidential secretary to the principal.
Administers medication according to policy and regulations when the school nurse is unavailable.
Operates standard office equipment.
Distributes community/district flyers.
Monitor free and reduced lunch forms and listings.
Type Student Handbook, Teacher Handbook and Emergency Handbook and prepare for distribution.
Type and monitor general fund purchase orders and bills for Principal.
Monitor budgets and properly record and balance accounts.
Coordinate inventories and record them on the computer
Check in purchase orders for the general fund.
Complete other tasks as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Compensation is according to the non-certified salary schedule and based upon position category, experience and years of service. Non-certified benefits are offered according to full versus part time status, and explained in the district's benefit brochure. EVALUATION Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Principal in accordance with board policies of the Warrensburg School District.
