In collaboration with the VP of Administration, the HR Manager oversees key HR functions and staff. The position directs employee relations, customer service, engagement and recruitment. The position will lead HR projects and program initiatives. This position acts as a partner to line managers in the application of HR programs to departmental operations. The HR Manager is liaison to the Newport News-based Peninsula School, providing onsite support and service as needed. The HR Manager helps ensure the HR team's compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This is a full-time, benefit eligible, 40 hours per week, exempt position (FTE 1).

Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Decision Making - Utilizes effective processes to make decisions and problem solve.
Personal Effectiveness - Demonstrates initiative, self-confidence, resiliency and a willingness to take responsibility for personal actions.
