Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Inc. is Hiring a VP, Business Development Near Burbank, CA

JOB TITLE: VP, Business Development
JOB DUTIES: Positions available as VP, Business Development for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Inc. in Burbank, CA. Work closely with the SVP, Business Development to formulate and implement a strategy for partnering with video game technology platforms to realize commercial opportunities driven by emerging technologies, including streaming games services, next generation console features, live game operations, and augmented/virtual reality. Work closely with external partners, WB Game studios, central technology groups and other divisions at WB to identify and shape opportunities, assess risks, and then structure and negotiate legal agreements. Responsible for the principal interface with Warner Bros. Games’ largest platform partners. Responsible for building, enhancing, and managing relationships with game technology partners and platforms to develop a deep understanding of their technical capabilities and forward-looking plans. Perform legal and business research to form strategies for evaluating and testing new opportunities in the market. Conduct due diligence to identify risk and opportunity areas for structuring platform deals. Responsible for negotiating and documenting a wide variety of deals with the Platforms, including co-marketing deals, bundles, streaming services, TCR waivers, distribution deals, PLAs, etc. Present framed opportunities (including finished deal sheets) to WB Games executive leadership to ensure strategic alignment with business priorities and the priorities of platform partners. Responsible for keeping the President of Warner Bros. Games briefed on day-to-day development with the platform partners, performing formal updates and ad hoc briefings where appropriate. Responsible for building the business case to support recommended deals and ‘selling’ the case internally to key stakeholders. May work remotely within commuting distance of the Burbank, California reporting office.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Requires a minimum of a JD degree or foreign equivalent, and at least 10 years of experience in the job offered or at least 10 years of experience in strategic partner management. Stated experience must include at least 10 years of experience in the following: structuring and negotiating complex transactions and commercial agreements; negotiating video game subscription agreements; building strategic frameworks for evaluating new business opportunities; working with video game companies, emerging technology platforms (such as streaming, mobile, AR/VR) and entertainment IP; and leading cross-functional teams. Must also have at least 2 years of experience working in a professional services setting (law firm, consulting firm, or investment bank). Must be willing to travel domestically up to 10% of the time, and internationally up to 2% of the time.
We are offering a salary range of $237,661 per year to $290,000 per year, depending upon qualifications.
