HOUSEKEEPING TECH POSITION SUMMARY:

• This position is primarily responsible for the general cleaning and floor care of all areas of the VMRC campus in patient/resident rooms in Supportive Living, public areas, offices, and as instructed/scheduled, private residences in Independent Living. Housekeeping Technicians are cross trained to support Supportive Living, Independent Living, Home Services and Laundry.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Monday-Friday
• Every seventh weekend
• 80 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks)

COMPENSATION for HOUSEKEEPING TECH:

• The starting base rate of pay for Housekeeping Tech is $13.10 - $17.03 per hour, based upon previous experiences and qualifications.

Requirements

As a condition for employment, VMRC requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. If selected for a pending job offer, the candidate will be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination(s) or provide proof of prior COVID-19 vaccination(s) before the date of hire.

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the basics of the English language and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, lift, carry or handle light weight (1-25 lbs.) materials or equipment frequently.
• Requires occasional physical effort with medium (25-60 lbs.) and heavy objects (over 60 lbs.).
• Works in reaching or strained position for about half of day.
• Ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision; self-motivated with ability to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes.
• Must enjoy working with people, have a pleasant and professional personality, and be able to interact tactfully with others.
• Ability to work quickly and carefully in a safe manner, and motivate others to do the same.
• This position may also require a current Virginia Driver's License with acceptable DMV driving record to obtain authorization on the VMRC Approved Drivers List (if required to drive a VMRC vehicle).
