Violet Los Angeles is Hiring a Head Chef Near Los Angeles, CA

Violet Los Angeles, a posh Bistro, Cooking School and Shop in the upscale LA neighborhood of Westwood Village, is seeking a Head Chef to join our team. Do you have experience in, and a passion for, cooking French-inspired cuisine? We'd love to speak with you!

Starting salary $90K - $95K based on experience plus annual goal-based bonus

Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where quality and consistency are crucial every day. Must be capable of consistently upholding and improving defined standards daily and over time. Must have the ability to positively lead others by practicing professionalism, excellence, kindness and hospitality toward teammates and guests while multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads. Must be able to innovate, train, develop and cost menu items, empower, coach, counsel and problem solve…on the fly. Must be willing to collaborate in all capacities with Ownership and Management.

The lunch and dinner menus feature French-inspired dishes with seasonal California flavors and flair. Lunch is offered M – F; Dinner is offered M – Sat., Takeout service is offered during hours of service, and there are occasional private events on Sundays.

Qualifications

  • Must have a strong passion for culinary excellence. Must be exceptionally meticulous.
  • Must thrive on pleasing guests, including accommodating their special requests, and delivering memorable experiences.
  • Must be resilient in stressful situations and always able to handle last minute requests with grace and professionalism.
  • Must have more than 3 years of experience as a chef at a full service, high-volume restaurant.
  • Must have open availability.
  • Must be familiar with local and specialty suppliers, farmers market vendors, specialty ingredients and purchase orders.
  • Must have advanced knowledge and understanding of financial aspects of business operations.
  • Must be ambitious, motivated and a team player. Must enjoy leading a team, coaching, and driving excellence.
  • Proficient mastery of Spanish is recommended.
