We are seeking a highly motivated & experienced Sr. Manager of HR to lead & oversee our Human Resources department to bring value to our company's biggest assets, our people.

Job Description:

The Senior HR Manager will lead the human resources department, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and aligning HR strategies with business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of employee relations, benefits administration, and talent management. Responsible for meeting with managers and employees to provide them with the necessary training and development, both in the workplace or offsite. May handle a wide variety of situations and conflicts involving the clerical and administrative function of the office. May handle various administrative type tasks in the office directed by Executive or Leadership teams. Responsible for working with the organization regarding general compliance and standard operating procedures and works primarily to ensure that methods and standards are safe, effective, and efficient. Prepares routine and advanced correspondence including letters, memoranda, and reports.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract, retain, and develop a diverse and high-performance workforce aligned with Viking Masek’s core values.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits program, ensuring competitiveness and equity.
  • Assess training needs and monitor training programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  • Serve as the point of contact for employment relations.
  • Administration and proficiency with company HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Executive and Leadership Team Support.
  • Oversee all HR initiatives, systems, and tactics (compensation, benefits, development, etc.).
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Develop, review, or improve employee programs.
  • Monitor overall employment compliance with all necessary laws and regulations.
  • Recommend best practices; review and modify company policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Monitor HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates and cost-per-hire) and provide guidance to leadership.
  • Analyze trends within company compared to industry benchmarks if available.
  • Support succession planning initiatives and review to ensure up to date.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 years’ experience in operations, management, or similar executive role.

General Skills/Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive.
  • People-oriented and results-driven.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and execute processes.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and flexible attitude.
  • Experience managing people, teams and processes.
  • Ability to identify weak spots in a process to improve efficiency and then execute.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to balance critical priorities.
  • Highly disciplined problem-solver.

Business Hours: Monday through Friday - 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Based on departmental needs. Travel as needed to meet performance requirements.
