Position: Program Manager I (Suicide Prevention Program Manager)

Overview:

The Program Manager I - Suicide Prevention Program Manager will oversee and manage the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant program at the Veterans One-stop Center. This position will be responsible for implementing and overseeing our grant program strategies to prevent suicide among Veterans and ensuring the program's success. The Program Manager will also serve as a subject matter expert in suicide prevention, providing guidance and support to staff, Veterans, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement, oversee, and champion our strategies to prevent suicide among Veterans, in alignment with the goals and objectives of the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant program

- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the Suicide Prevention Program

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address gaps in the program's services and resources

- Conduct outreach to Veterans and their families to raise awareness about suicide prevention and provide support and resources

- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and organizations to support the program's goals

- Supervise and provide leadership to program staff, ensuring their training and development needs are met

- Oversee the planning and implementation of training and educational programs on suicide prevention for staff, Veterans, and community members

- Track and report on program outcomes and effectiveness, using data to inform program improvements and enhancements

- Stay up-to-date on the latest research, trends, and best practices in suicide prevention, continuously integrating new knowledge into the program

- Represent the organization at community events and meetings related to suicide prevention

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program management, preferably in the field of mental health or suicide prevention

- Strong knowledge of suicide prevention strategies and resources, particularly for Veterans

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders

- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

- Experience with grant management and reporting

- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Passion for serving and supporting Veterans and their families

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with the potential to move to a 4-day / 36-hour work week with no reduction in pay after reaching Tier 2 (Which should take roughly a year, dependent upon the person). Working hours are generally Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend events or meetings. This position also requires local travel to attend meetings and outreach events. Work is typically performed in an office setting with frequent interactions with colleagues, community partners, and clients.
