UW Candidate Experience is Hiring a Pooled Position Limited Tempor - Foundation Development Internship Near Laramie, WY

JOB TITLE: 

Foundation Development Internship

JOB PURPOSE:  

This position will support the foundation development team at the University of Wyoming Foundation. The Foundation Development Internship offers valuable hands-on experience in foundation development in a university setting. The candidate selected for this internship will play a crucial supportive role in fostering meaningful connections between our institution and foundation partners. The Foundation Development Intern will execute the activities below in partnership with teams across the organization. Having a comfort level in working across teams to accomplish foundation development activities is a critical part of this role.

• To develop a working knowledge of processes and procedures at an organization. 
• To apply research skills on existing processes and procedures to make recommendations for implementing processes specific to foundation engagement. 
• To gain professional experience working with a diverse group of team members working toward a similar mission.
• To gain knowledge of both Advancement Services and Development functions related to the nonprofit sector. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the foundation development team in gathering and creating content for materials to be used in documents (print and digital) for proposals and stewardship reports.
• Conduct independent research and present options to the foundation development team to consider for foundation proposals. 
• Partner with corporate engagement team to participate in shared research projects with the goal of sharing grant development projects. 
• Prepare supporting documents, such as training documents or PowerPoint presentations, to be used to educate respective UW Foundation teams on new processes and procedures.
• Engage in effective communication with internal colleagues, ensuring a seamless flow of information and collaboration.
• Contribute creative ideas for innovative approaches to foundation engagement and relationship-building.
• Preparing presentation materials, including translating data into meaningful content that articulates foundation impact on campus.
• Contribute creative ideas for innovative opportunities to corporate engagement and relationship building for companies and the University of Wyoming.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills 
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams 
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly 
• Ability to learn independently and take initiative 
• Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Wyoming 
• Ability to work in person at UW Foundation office in Laramie, WY with opportunities to do work from on home on mutually agreed projects

• Experience with Microsoft Teams 
• Currently pursuing a degree (major/minor; undergraduate/graduate) in Marketing, Sales, Communications and Journalism, Business Administration, English, Creative Writing, History, Museum Studies, or other similar fields is helpful, but not required. 

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
