US Venture is Hiring a HR Business Partner II Near Appleton, WI
POSITION SUMMARY U.S. Venture is growing and we are seeking a HR Business Partner II to join our team. Reporting to the VP of HR Operations for U.S. Energy and U.S. Lubricants, this critical HR Business Partner II role will support our U.S. Lubricants Division and our field positions in U.S. Energy. The incumbent will partner, coach, and consult leaders on organization initiatives that contribute to delivering functional/business goals while shaping and supporting culture strategy, programming, and activities to ensure a meaningful work experience for all team members. The HR Business Partner II will be responsible for directing and executing successful People Resources initiatives, including compliance, employment practices, team member relations, performance management, recruiting, compensation and benefits management, and safety. Additional responsibilities include ensuring company policies and procedures are in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
This position will work out of our Downtown Appleton, WI office [222 W College Avenue, Appleton, WI 54911].
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Shape and support culture strategy, programming, and activities to ensure a meaningful work experience for all team members.
Advances Talent and Culture initiatives through consultation and relationship building, while ensuring alignment to functional and division-wide strategies
Lead enterprise projects and strategies that positively influence team member experience and optimize People Resource partnerships within the businesses supported.
Recommend changes to policies and procedures proactively that affect individual or multiple locations.
Lead people related acquisition and integration efforts to ensure a seamless and team member focused experience for acquired team members.
Provide advice and recommendations on appropriate organizational structure and staffing.
Partner with our Talent Acquisition team to support the recruitment for open positions through strong knowledge of the supported businesses and connection to the hiring manager to ensure hires are aligned with U.S. Venture values.
Effectively handle intake of employee relation issues. Outline initial step in remediation. Will know when to bring in business partners to effectively resolve problems.
Analyze change, question potential risk, report, and provide support for workers compensation, unemployment compensation, wage and hour inquiries, OSHA, DOT, FMLA, USERRA and related employment law compliance.
Provide information to team members regarding corporate benefit programs, payroll inquiries and career development opportunities.
Provide proactive business insight through data analytics, research, and benchmarking to inform and recommend solutions to enable business growth; use analytics to share trends with business leaders and act on strategies with impact to the bottom line (i.e., move from turnover tracking to predicting flight risks)
Coordinate and manage investigations related to harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, theft, etc., acting as lead investigator.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant work experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience
Strong understanding of common federal and agency employment laws and regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, DOL)
Knowledge of Human Resources laws and ability to grasp company HR procedures and processes for multiple locations.
Resourceful and self-motivated with ability to work in changing environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make decisions based on data while drawing from previous experience.
Demonstrated experience with coaching employees and management through complex and difficult issues.
Demonstrated ability to effectively partner and collaborate with all levels of the organization and positively influence teams.
Strong working knowledge of recruitment, benefits, safety, compensation systems, team member relations, unemployment, and worker’s compensation
Possesses a servant leadership mindset through high integrity, loyalty, compassion, and maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information.
Good decision maker who is well organized and can prioritize and plan ahead.
Has strong instincts to make sounds business recommendations.
Ability to work in a diverse organization where group interaction, teamwork, and relationships are critical to success.
Excellent communicator and listener who is assertive yet personable and flexible.
Knowledge of HRIS Software, Microsoft Suite and PowerBI (or other data & analytics software) a plus
Moderate travel is needed to support business operations, up to 25% of the time.
Preferred:
SHRM-CP OR PHR Certification
Multi-State or multi-location experience
