Duties

The Antitrust Division (ATR) is seeking to fill a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) position in the Cybersecurity Services Section (CSS). Within the ATR Division, CSS works in the public interest to promote a competitive and productive American economy.
As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support the overall information security program.
  • Performing independent risk and vulnerability assessments.
  • Providing recommendations on system network boundaries, applications, and/or network implementation to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place and are being enforced.
  • Reporting on the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) status monthly or quarterly to various officials.
  • Creating risk-based decision memoranda, waiver exceptions, standard operating procedures, and policy recommendations on behalf of the CSS Chief and DTCIO to identify and communicate risks.
  • Identifying and assessing DOJ common controls based on National Institute of Standards and Technology 800-53 Revision 5.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience that has provided you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to this position being filled. You have information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies:
  • Attention to Detail - Performing risk assessment to complete detailed reports;
  • Customer Service - working with systems to ensure customer recommendations are met;
  • Oral Communication- Providing recommendations to management and other technical specialists; and
  • Problem Solving - Completing vulnerability assessments to make recommendations for correction.

  • Providing technical guidance and recommendations to management on system vulnerability issues;
