US Missile Defense Agency is Hiring a Program Analyst Near Dahlgren, VA

Duties

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
This position is part of the DoD, Missile Defense Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for advising the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) leadership on all matters related to program cost, schedule and performance across the Missile Defense System (MDS).
As a Program Analyst at the NH-0343-3 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Supports higher graded specialists who serve as planner, analyst, and advisor to agency management on program cost analysis, annual/multi-year and long-range fiscal/program planning, and/or commercial issues for key agency programs.
  • Ensure that BMDS program/project requirements are properly identified, budgeted, and acquired in accordance with Agency and DoD acquisition regulations and policies.
  • Assess, manage, and eliminate risk related to program cost, schedule and performance. Assisting Senior Acquisition Program Analysts with assignments related to acquisition and/or program cost, schedule and performance across the Missile Defense System.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-03 broadband level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
  • Experience with the acquisition of products and services supporting a major weapon system; OR
  • Advising leadership on program, product, or project strategies pertaining to program cost, schedule and performance OR
  • Applying systems acquisition processes, policies, procedures, and practices pertaining to cost, schedule, and technical assessments of acquisition programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
