US Millennium Challenge Corporation is Hiring an Administrative Support Specialist, MC-301-4C Near Washington, DC

Duties

  • Coordinates various administrative tasks and problem solves to support efficient operations of the administrative law portfolio. Serves as the administrative point of contact for the Administrative Law group and also performs administrative tasks in support of OGC's programs on ethics, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and whistleblower protection.
  • Provides assistance in preparing, monitoring, maintaining, and following up on a variety of confidential actions, as well as special management related projects. Prepares and tracks correspondence, reports, training materials, policies, and regulations. Proofreads legal documents, coordinates calendars, and schedules depositions.
  • Creates, revises, and maintains various automated systems to track reports, work products, and information related to the administrative law portfolio. Drafts and finalizes internal administrative procedures and delegations of authority.
  • Drafts correspondence and notifications, monitoring program email accounts, requests documents and information, prepares reports, and supports audit functions.
  • Revies and analyzes FOIA requests and records, ensuring the FOIA reading room is up to date, and ensuring that FOIA reports are accurately and timely filed.
  • Serves as the contracting officer representative (COR) or program manager to support departmental contracts as assigned and provides ongoing contract management. Tracks and manages contracts and charge card activity and prepares necessary reports.
  • Assists in the planning and coordination of travel, including formulating schedules and securing necessary travel authorizations and clearances, visas, tickets, and other transportation and accommodation requirements.
  • Performs administrative tasks in support of planning and coordinating attorney training requests. Assists with training and professional dues reimbursements.
  • Perform tasks in support of preparing and managing the OGC budget. Monitors and tracks related expenditures and prepares summaries and reports for management.
  • Conducts research and compilation of data from diverse sources, extracts and assembles information, conducts analysis and may develop reports and presentations. Serves as a notary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for pay band 4C applicants meet one of the following:
Have at least one year of specialized experience relevant to the position duties and comparable to the MCC Pay Band 5 (GS-9) or an equivalent level which is directly related to the work of this position, and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. For this position, this experience is defined as; coordinating administrative program operations and activities such as travel, budget, contracts, scheduling, etc.; using automated systems to track work activities, correspondence, prepare reports, coordinate activities, etc.; experience with basic legal terminology in order to proofread documents and to edit and draft correspondence; experience providing administrative support to attorneys; and preparing correspondence, recommendations, reports, and memoranda and reviewing and editing documents for accuracy. Note: This experience MUST be well documented within your resume or application.

(2) Applicants may also qualify based on completing requirements for a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Such education must be related to the work of the position and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

(3) Applicants may qualify based on equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements. Such education must be related to the work of the position and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
Highly Desirable: Basic knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act and related regulations, guidance, and procedures.
Highly Desirable: Knowledge of basic legal terminology in order to proofread documents and to edit and draft correspondence.
Highly Desirable Basic knowledge of federal ethics laws and related regulations, guidance, and procedures.

  • RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION BONUS may be authorized for this position.
