Job Details:

General Notes

This position may qualify for a hybrid remote/in-person work schedule. Must be able to attend occasional special meetings or events outside of normal business hours. Must be able to travel on occasion, including overnight and out of state.

Purpose

Lead the development work at the Dana Center by developing, maintaining, and executing on an annual fundraising plan.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development work for the Dana Center. Nurture a culture of philanthropy. Work with Directors to develop and maintain an annual strategic fundraising plan. Execute on the Development plan to secure funding for ongoing and new Dana Center initiatives, including strategies to diversify funding. Identify, cultivate and steward relationships with funders. Lead fundraising and grant-related meetings

  • Communicate fundraising goals and strategies internally and externally. Collaborate with Center leadership, programmatic leads, and the operations team to design and implement fundraising strategies and knowledge management systems.

  • Manage the funding process from organizing proposal development to proposalsubmissions.In collaboration with Center leadership, programmatic leads, and the operations team, coordinateinterim reporting andspenddownand final reporting andnext steps.Manage proposal copy, including findings from evaluation and supporting information and materials and apply as needed across funding opportunities.

  • Collaborate and leverage relationships with UT Development, faculty, other development colleagues, staff and leaders across the College and University to strengthen and expand funding opportunities.

  • Participate in processes and activities designed to establish an organizational culture that supports learning, collaboration, and collective responsibility in order to enhance professional relationships, job satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant organizational fundraising or advancement experience

  • Knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies, including knowledge of management systems and resources for education funding

  • Ability to communicate organizational objectives in a clear and compelling manner as well as the detailed plans required to achieve goals

  • Proven track record of closing grants

  • Demonstrated success with grant packaging, research and writing

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including editing and proofreading and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and diplomatic and collaborative working style

  • Knowledge of the foundation, government, and corporate philanthropy landscape

  • Previous management experience

(Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success leading strategic fundraising planning and execution

  • More than five years of experience in organizational fundraising or advancement

  • Existing fundraising relationships at the local, state, and/or national level and the ability to network.

  • Proven track record of closing six- and seven-figure plus grants

  • Experience building funders coalitions

  • Experience with UT's VIP donor database and DEFINE system

Salary Range

$75,000 - $82,000

Working Conditions
