Job Description Summary
Job Description
The person in this position will work closely with faculty and senior biostatisticians in the Statistical Center for Translational Research in Medicine (SC-TRM) on the analysis of electronic health records, medical claims, and biobank data. SC-TRM is a key research hub for translational biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, with close connection to Penn Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT) and Center for Precision Medicine (PCPM). The analyst will assist with preparation and analysis of electronic health record data in collaboration with clinicians in PCPM and ITMAT and data scientists. He/she will also provide statistical support for various research activities including database management, implementing customized statistical analyses using existing tools, programming support for methods and tool development activities, and generating tables and figures for publications. In addition, there will be opportunities for involvement in the development of novel statistical methodologies for analyzing electronic health record data.
Position is contingent upon funding.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in biostatistics or statistics and 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree preferred. Excellent skills working in statistical programs such as R, Python, etc. is also needed. Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills required. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills as well as the ability to manage multiple projects effectively required.
