The School of Medicine (SOM) Human Resources team strives to provide exceptional customer service with timely and accurate information as well as guidance on topics including employee relations, employee engagement, employee development, position classification, compensation/market analyses, policy interpretation, implementation of HR initiatives, talent management, new hire orientation/onboarding and exit interview leadership.
The School of Medicine seeks a talented leader to guide the HR staff in operational and strategic leadership in the planning, integration and implementation of human resource functions and programs for faculty and staff across the departments and centers of the School of Medicine; provides strategic planning, organization design and implementation of HR structure to meet needs of clinical and non-clinical departments in accordance with SOM mission, vision and values and overall strategic plan and goals; continually assess HR strategy and structure to ensure efficiencies and effectiveness; makes workflow changes and process improvements as warranted.
As an HR professional in the larger university setting, the HR Director will work to collaborate with UM System HR, MU Campus HR and MUHC HR to understand strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with the University of Missouri’s priorities, policies, and programs. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Services with a dotted reporting line with the School of Medicine Sr. Associate Dean for Administration and Planning, this position will collaborate closely with various unit leaders within the School of Medicine, as well as partner closely and collaboratively with the UM Centers of Expertise (Recruitment, Learning & Organizational Development, etc.) and other HR leaders across the enterprise.
Supervision Exercised:
M- F, 8 am – 5 pm
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 7 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Salary Range:$110,000 - $140,000 Annually
Grade: GGS-013
