Position Summary:

Under general supervision provides support for the medical education and residency program in the Department of Urology.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Processes applications for incoming program residents
  • Submits credentialing applications for incoming residents. Reviews credentials and applications assuring completeness, prepares applications as needed, submits applications and obtains verifications
  • Communicates with outside agencies and entities, including GME, ACGME and licensing agencies
  • Maintains the medical resident roster and enters information into required databases
  • Performs appropriate interdepartmental billing transactions for services provided or obtained in the performance of related duties
  • Organizes data and files in compliance with auditing and accreditation requirements
  • Supports medical staff, students, students on rotation, and student externs as appropriate, provides information regarding departmental and institutional requirements and verifies compliance
  • Organizes and oversees residency candidate interviews
  • Maintains New Innovations databases and evaluations
  • Onboards new residents, conducts orientation, establishes netids, training requirements, obtains access and i-cards as appropriate
  • Oversees and maintains CME database
  • Coordinates Grand Rounds and assists in developing didactic curriculum
  • Oversees graduation events, meetings, and journal club
  • Coordinates relevant internal and external meetings and records proceedings
  • Provides ad hoc reports in support of new system design and implementation
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Any one or combination totaling four (4) years (48 months), from the categories below:

A. College coursework in medical education, education, communications, public relations, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

  • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
  • Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
  • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)

B. Progressively more responsible clerical or secretarial experience, including a background in electronic word processing and database management systems.

Please Note: Completion of the Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education Programs Certification (TAGME) from the National Board for Certification of Training Administrators qualifies applicants for each level of this series.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of a variety of accreditation standards for medical education programs
  • Advanced computer skills, knowledge of software systems.
  • Prioritizes responsibilities and makes adjustments as needed
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population
