UI Health is seeking a Department Information Supervisor to join our Specialty Care Building (SCB) Transplant Clinic team. This role will coordinate the information resource and processing functions of the department, with responsibility for the supervision and oversight of the clerical staff, efficiency and staffing productivity. The DIS will effectively and independently monitor information processing function s for the department including staffing resource allocation, establishment of work standards, determination of work priorities, and problem solving.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the communication operations and departmental information handling process, to ensure prompt and accurate institutional information is provided to the public, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist with daily management of Transplant practice support services, including but not limited to charge entry, reconciliation, registration, scheduling, and record maintenance.
  • Manage and submit changes to provider templates.
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate daily activities of assigned clerical staff within the department including development of performance standards, evaluation activities, orientation, ongoing training, and benefit usage.
  • Establish and maintain an in-service departmental training program to train clerical staff in standard operating procedures.
  • Effectively and independently monitor information processing functions for the department including staffing resource allocation, establishment of work standards, determination of work priorities, and problem solving.
  • Act as a central department resources for the correspondence of written and oral communication. Evaluate and implement departmental systems and procedures to maximize an ensure efficiency, as required. Determine communications equipment needs and request required maintenance service.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any one or combination totaling five (5) years (60 months) from the categories below:

    A. College coursework in business administration, operations management, or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

    • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
    • Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
    • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
    • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)

    B. Progressively responsible work experience requiring supervising, organizing, and coordinating work programs, and responsibility for the performance of those supervised.
