Job Opening Summary

Provides administrative support to the Director of Clinical Laboratories, Quality Manager and department managers. Works with lab management team to achieve quality goals via project management and audit support. Responsible for professional communications with administrators, physicians, hospital staff, stakeholders and service teams. Work performed requires independent project coordination from introduction to implementation.

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • AA or AS degree required.
  • Laboratory practice knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with project task management preferred.
  • Necessary skills and knowledge, to include organization, timeliness, typing, scheduling appointments and phone etiquette.
  • Computer-related knowledge, such as Acrobat Adobe, Outlook and Microsoft programs, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must require minimal supervision and be able to exercise sound independent judgment.
  • Must be able to work independently and/or within a team-oriented environment using appropriate CQI tools.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and knowledge of hospital operations are all necessary requirements for the position.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

  • Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non-frequent driver.

NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.

Minimum Pay Rate - Hourly: $18.82 Midpoint Pay Rate - Hourly: $22.84
