Departmental Overview
Berkeley Public Health (BPH) aims to improve population health, especially for the most vulnerable, through interdisciplinary collaborations, preeminent education, and transformational research. Established in 1943, BPH is a professional school on the UC Berkeley campus that comprises six academic divisions and nearly 30 research centers and programs. The HR Coordinator is an integral part of the HR & Academic PersonnelTeam, in the School of Public Health Dean's Office. The team managesand supports the day-to-day HR activities and actions for the School's 600 person workforce, including senate and non-senate faculty, non-faculty academic appointees, staff, and student employees.

Responsibilities
Under general supervision, coordinates student employment in the School of Public Health (e.g., Student Assistants, Graduate StudentResearchers), including position management (UCPath transactional user), new hire/concurrenthire requests, work-study program referrals,extension requests, and separations.
Partners with Berkeley Regional Services to facilitate resolution to appointment issues, pay issues, multi-location issues, etc.
Under general supervision, coordinates a number of ongoing HR and Academic HR activities, suchas the notification and letter solicitation processes for academic advancement cases, the STAR Award program for staff, HR Service Hub case and associated form submissions to BRS, management of departmental email account, etc.
Under general supervision, develops, executes, analyzes, and takes action on monthly data reports from CalAnswers and UCPath Cognos for team and client groups.
Manages sensitive and confidential information and effectively and collaboratively interacts with team members, partners, and client groups.
Participates in trainings and other professional development opportunities.
Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Analytical skills to conduct analysis and developrecommendations; demonstrates organizational skills,problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MicrosoftSuite and Google Collaboration Suite, and familiarity with Smartsheet, DocuSign, and SurveyMonkey.
Knowledge of a human resources management system(HRMS) and/or other related business software programs and systems.
Knowledge of databases, with experience in data tracking and data analysis.
Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.
Strong customer service orientation, including excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work with a wide range offaculty and staff.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in collaboration with team members, as well as with others atvarying levels of the organization.
Comfortable, flexible, and adaptable in a fast-moving, high pressure, constantly shifting environment, with frequent interruptions and multiple priorities.
Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of human resources policies, programs,and processes, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.
Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), career position, and eligible for full UC benefits.
This position is a non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position. Hourly pay for this role is commensurate with experience within the range of $29.50 - $32.50.
This is a remote-friendly position, eligible for 60% remote eligibility.
