This is a regular fully-funded position with benefits that is tied to a project scheduled to run through 12/31/2024.
The University System of Maryland (USM) has launched a multi-institutional project, Maryland CONNECT, to upgrade the Human Resources (HCM) and Finance ERP systems across five USM institutions, implementing a shared Workday system. The Technical Training Specialist will work with USM staff at each of the five Maryland CONNECT institutions as well as the project consulting team to develop and implement a comprehensive training program for our campus communities. This includes development of training materials for assigned business processes, providing in-person training, recording training sessions, and posting materials in document sharing platforms. Position may have a primary focus on HCM or Finance depending on experience.

Required Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technology, training, or business-related field.
Experience: Three years of experience in training, technical writing, instructional design, or business process design experience. Experience in higher education and/or experience with Workday as a user or trainer preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Fluent in Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel; competency in Camtasia will be expected within 3-4 months after onboarding. Ability to learn about administrative concepts and create tailored training materials for University System of Maryland’s stakeholder groups. Ability to collaborate across the project team. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop materials appropriate for diverse end-user populations. Ability to meet short and long-term deadlines.
