Summary of Job Duties:The Senior Finance Manager assists the College of Public Health (COPH) Associate Dean for Finance & Administration in all areas of college financial management. The position serves as the Cost Center Manager for the College which makes them the primary approver for financial transactions of all types, both in Workday and the Foundation accounts. The Senior Finance Manager also serves as the primary liaison to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), Office of Sponsored Programs Administrative Network (OSPAN), Grants Accounting, as well as the UAMS Contracts Office. In addition, this position works closely with the administrative staff in the College in an advisory role.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of experience in finance and administration in an academic medical setting required.
Preferred Qualifications
Grants Management Certification.
5 years of experience in finance and administration in an academic medical setting.
Experience in a grants/sponsored programs-related group such as OSPAN or as a Department Administrator.

Responsibilities:
Works with COPH faculty in developing budgets for COPH contracts and grants.
Works with COPH faculty in managing contracts and contract accounts.
Responsible for maintaining an 18-month rolling projection of grant and contract activity, including analyses of potential marginal expenses.
Monitors actual expenditures as compared to budget for all levels: college, department, program, and cost center.
Calculates and processes quarterly faculty incentive payments per the COPH Faculty Incentive Plan (FIP).
Calculates and processes quarterly faculty incentive payments per the COPH Faculty Indirect Cost Recovery (IDCR) plan, responsible for making all personnel cost allocation changes in Workday for the college.
Monitors and controls all activity in all COPH faculty professional development accounts, department professional development accounts, and IDCR accounts.
Works with faculty to complete quarterly Time and Effort reports, then certifies the activity for Cost Accounting.
Primary approver for all COPH purchase requisitions, journal entries, travel expense reports in Workday, and Foundation PARs.
Primary COPH liaison to OSPAN, ORSP, and Grants Accounting.
Responsible for managing numerous sub-awards to community organizations and other universities.
Routes all Revenue Contracts through the Ntracts system, working with Contract Services through the process.
Monitors post-award activity across the College's full grant portfolio.
Responsible for making all accounting adjustments for grants in Workday.
Performs other duties as assigned.
