Department: Operations
Reports to: Operations Manager
works in a safe, efficient manner and that the production processes provide a high-quality
product for Kabinart customers.
- Supervises the activities and personnel within the assigned department and shift
- Manages manufacturing personnel and trains them according to standard work to complete all tasks and to properly utilize all equipment and tools
- Monitors work activities within the department to ensure product meets quality specifications and employee performance meets performance expectations
- Ensures their department achieves departmental, plant, and corporate goals for safety, quality, performance, and delivery
- Leads and participates in continuous improvement initiatives to support the Lean culture throughout our facility
- Maintains employee morale by portraying a positive image of the company
- Administers and enforces company policies and practices
- Effectively communicates with employees on a regular basis
- Confers with other supervisors and managers to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, particularly with a technical specialization
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with continuous improvement concepts such as lean and six sigma
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop people
- Capable of building positive partnerships and working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams across all levels of the organization
- Ability to balance and achieve positive performance results across their department, including costs and employee relations
- Prior wood product or building product experience is preferred
