UniGroup, C.A. is Hiring a Safety Compliance Coordinator Near St. Louis, MO

Position Summary: Under general supervision, performs motor carrier safety compliance activities. Assures compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and corporate safety policies and procedures by qualifying van operators and insuring equipment is inspected at proper intervals. Communicates the importance of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) initiative to ensure compliance and works with agents to improve their Compliance Safety Performance Rating (CSPR). The work location for this role is flexible if approved by UniGroup except this position may not be performed remotely from Colorado and California.. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Possesses comprehensive knowledge of and complies with FMCSRs and UniGroup corporate safety policies. Audits and approves incoming Van Operator Qualification files in accordance with federal regulations and UniGroup Safety policies. Audits and approves consumer reports through third-party providers; maintains confidentiality of personal information related to applicants. Audits and approves all required documents related to worker’s compensation and vehicle insurance requirements. Monitors van operator qualification updates related to license expirations, motor vehicle reports, annual certification of violations and medical certification status taking appropriate follow-up action as required. Reviews and approves incoming vehicle inspections to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal regulations and UniGroup Safety policies. Enforces corporate vehicle graphic standards to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and UniGroup Marketing policies. Monitors past due and unqualified usage; disqualifying van operators and equipment as appropriate. Reconciles billing and agent chargebacks related to van operator consumer reports. Resolves non-compliance problems by communicating with agents/van operators to train and educate about Federal and UniGroup van operator qualifications requirements and vehicle inspections. Communicates with agents the importance of the FMCSA’s CSA initiative to ensure compliance and works with them to improve their SPR through positive reinforcement. Follows all ISO, environmental and sustainability policies. Performs a variety of other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education, License or Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Safety Transportation or equivalent experience.
