UIP Companies is Hiring an Asset Manager Near Washington, DC

Position: Asset Manager

Reports to: Vice President of Asset Management

UIP Asset Management (UIPAM) has an exciting opportunity for an Asset Manager to join our growing team. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Asset Management and is responsible for assisting with the implementation and management of business plans and budgets, as well as providing critical support for pricing and other business reporting. The Asset Manager helps to ensure investor satisfaction and that requirements are met in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with prior multifamily and commercial asset management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VPs of Asset Management and Property Management to implement strategic business plans and budgets for each property in the portfolio to drive maximum shareholder value, while providing outstanding employee and resident experience
  • Work closely with the Accounting and Property Management teams to provide monthly and quarterly investor reporting
  • Ensure a high standard of operational performance is upheld within the portfolio through understanding and tracking NOI and other metrics
  • Directly manage internal pricing responsibilities and maximize revenue by developing and executing pricing strategy through market research and communication with the Property Management team
  • In partnership with Regional Manager, implement and support the highest quality governance
  • Report on critical operational and financial metrics to senior leadership and investors
  • Oversee the marketing, leasing, and positioning of directly owned real estate, as well as reviewing leases and legal documents
  • Provide leadership and support during property underwriting, acquisitions, refinance, and owner transitions
  • Analyze and monitor capital improvement and renovation programs required for property maintenance, competitive positioning, and market repositioning
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all factors affecting markets and submarkets associated with assets in the portfolio
  • Lead and develop a team of Associates and Analysts by providing feedback and mentorship
  • Provide ad hoc analysis for changing operations trends and investor relations priorities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in multifamily asset management
  • Experience with commercial asset management is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel and Word) required
  • Held progressively more responsible roles in multifamily and commercial asset management
  • Highly skilled in property management finance, including budgeting, forecasting, financial statements, pro forma analysis, and market analysis
  • Previous experience with industry specific management software, such as Yardi and Yieldstar strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational management skills, including people management
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ethical
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to champion through daily interactions
