UCLA is Hiring an Associate Director, Bruin Resource Center Near Los Angeles, CA

Reporting to the Director of the Bruin Resource Center, the Associate Director provides strategic vision and leadership for the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and management of the programming and activities in the Bruin Resource Center (BRC). The mission of the BRC is to support students' development, well-being, and academic success by providing valuable resources, services and learning opportunities and by promoting a supportive and inclusive campus community. These programs include the Bruin Guardian Scholars Program for current and former foster youth (BGS), Bruin Guardian Scholars Academy for high school students in foster care (BGSA), Students with Dependents Program and Caregivers (SwD), students who have experienced houselessness (MKV), Collegiate Recovery Program for students in recovery from drugs, alcohol and other addictive substances (CRP), Bruin Underground Scholars for formerly incarcerated/system-impacted students (BUS), students who identify across the spectrum of neurodiversity (NET) and students who are undocumented (USP), including UC Immigrant Legal Services (UCIMM).
The Associate Director independently establishes and prioritizes short and long range goals for program implementation, growth, and assessment; manage professional and student staff; manage and enhance department resources including operating budgets, space, personnel, equipment, and technology; chairs or represents the department on a variety of standing and ad-hoc committees; writing and analysis; and creates presentations and recommendations to establish standards and practice guidelines across the university of issues of (1) student support and retention, (2) campus climate and diversity, and (3) student development. Incumbent contributes in a leadership role to the formulation and execution of the overall vision, strategic plan, policies, and resource management of the Student Affairs Organization.
The Associate Director conducts and oversees departmental training and development for the Bruin Resource Center. Training & Development focuses on various departmental goals as needed such as operations, compliance, leadership, skill-based programs, safety, and staff development. Provide Director with reports, logistics, and evaluation of training programs.

1. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with services and programs focused on student retention and success, student development, and campus climate and diversity.

2. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in working with historically underserved and non-traditional student populations such as transfer students, parenting students, student veterans, undocumented students, and students who have been in the foster care system.

3. Demonstrated understanding of diversity that includes but is not limited to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ability, socioeconomic level, religion, political persuasion.

4. Effective financial management, budget analysis and strategic planning skills.

5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, administrators, donors, families, and community groups both verbally and in writing. Ability to prepare and deliver professional presentations; explain complex ideas to diverse audiences, build consensus, and influence decision-making.
